Timmer's Restaurant is a local landmark with a colorful history that
includes tales of slot machines and bootleggers.
But the property
surrounding the restaurant and the family cottages that go with it
includes breathtaking natural beauty that has been preserved for
future generations through agreements with the Cedar Lake
Conservation Foundation. The preservation began in 1989 when some
original Timmers' acreage was protected after the Foundation
purchased the development rights to 18 acres of slopes at Fox Hill.
The process of protecting the entire Timmers' property was finally
completed in 2002.
